Moving You Forward to Live A Better Life!

Sunrise on The Columbia River - Kennewick, WA

Sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone and move away from what ‘is’ in order for God to bring us to what can be. ~ Robin R. Robbins

I am reminded today of my many Blessings.  There is so much good in the world if only we choose to see it as such.  Sure – some days can be full of challenges or struggles, but if we remind ourselves of the ‘bigger picture’, and acknowledge that we are each here for a genuine and specific purpose it is much easier to see the world from a place of love and gratitude.

We weren’t promised an easy road, but we were promised that it is going to be worth every moment we spend growing along the path of life.

I would like to encourage you today to hold onto that promise in faith and BELIEVE that all things are possible.  No matter what you might be going trough, know that you are never alone and that what is happening today is only one season in your life.  This season will pass into a different season.  It does get better, wounds can be healed, hearts do get mended, life does go on… and it IS worth it!

Many Blessings ~~~

“It is not what we take up, but what we give up, that makes us rich.” ~ Henry Ward Beecher

Social Media is truly all about Relationships.  One of the biggest mistakes I see continually on many Pages/Platforms is too much ‘self-promotion’ and not enough relationship building.

Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn etc. are fantastic ways to get your Business ‘out there’ and let people know what you are all about.  However, if you are not genuinely engaging with your clients/customers on a daily basis, and showing your ‘social media audience’ that you truly care about THEIR wants/needs – you are quickly going to get ‘lost in the shuffle’.

We are all daily bombarded with advertising – just about everywhere we go, somebody is trying to sell us something.  So if you are treating your Social Media Pages strictly like an advertising platform – you are going to be hidden in the news feeds rather quickly and/or ‘dis-connected’ from your potential customers/clients.  This results in ‘shooting yourself in the foot’ so to speak as your efforts can end up being a waste of your valuable time.

The main key to remember when using all Social Media is that it is not about YOU nearly as much as it is about THEM.  If you keep in mind that Social Media is about Building Relationships (not selling) and you strive to post content that is of value to your ‘audience’ – you will fare much better in promoting your Business.

It has been proven that the best ‘rule of thumb’ for posting on Social Media is to go by the 80/20 rule (80% of your results will come from 20% of your actions).  Strive to post content of value to your ‘audience’ (aka potential clients/customers) at least 80% of the time.  Answer their comments and questions on your posts within 24-48 hours and engage with them regularly.  Actual promotion of your Business should be kept at a 20% minimum – and again, all comments/questions from your audience should be responded to within a 24-48 hour time frame.  This will keep your audience engaged, (relationship building) and establish a trust between you and them.  As you continue to build the relationships and gain the trust of your audience – they will share your content and posts willingly, which in turn helps in building and ‘advertising’ your Business for you.

Examples: If you are running a Construction/Renovation company, then 80% of your posts on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.) should be tips/tricks in Home/Office Renovations.  If your company provides Office Support Services – 80% of your posts should be Tips/Ideas to help out those seeking your services.

Since RRR Consulting & Publishing is about motivating others and helping them succeed at all levels you will see us post many different types of tips/tricks/success tips/motivational quotes & videos about 90% of the time.  You can ‘follow our lead’ at: https://www.facebook.com/rrrconsultingnpublishing.

Abundant Faith

How often do we feel that because God has Blessed us already – that we dare not ask for any more?  It is written that God is a God of Abundance – that He has many great things in store for us.  All we have to do is ASK, and BELIEVE!

I am grateful for all that You have given me Father

So I thought I dare not ask for more

Then I remembered that you intend abundance for me

And then knelt in prayer to knock on your door

Give me all good that I desire Lord

Pour out what I seek from you today

I receive all that You intend for me

Gratefully, I pray

You alone are my provider

I worry not – there is no fear

I ask in faith, and I BELIEVE

That very soon, more Blessings WILL appear!

Jeremiah 29:11

New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I’m Third!

In 1979 a gentleman by the name of Eddie Pundt came to my High School graduating class and spoke at our final assembly before graduation.  Eddie was a very energetic man, with a clear message;

“I’m Third”.

Eddie spoke of many important things that day, but the jest of his overall message was that you can go anywhere you want to in life if you always remember, “I’m Third”.  He gave us many examples and told us to go out and live our dreams.

Just before he left the stage he held up a small card – it was white with green writing and it simply said, “I’m Third”.  Then he stated clearly,

“Always remember – God First, The Other Fellow Second, and I’m Third.”

He then told us that he had several hundred of those little cards if we would like to have one to come and see him at he end of the assembly.  That was the first time in my life that I had heard anyone speak in such a manner and it touched my heart deeply.  I wanted one of those cards!  There wasn’t anything ‘magical’ in it, it was simply to be kept as a reminder to always put others first.  That was a new concept to me at that time in my life, yet I never forgot it.

I still have my original card from 1979 given to me by Mr. Pundt.  Over the years I have created many more versions of that little card and shared them with others, always relaying Eddie’s message with each card.

I have also lived the message that Mr. Pundt so graciously put upon my heart  32 years ago, and I have enjoyed every moment!

So today I wanted to share with you – “I’m Third” – may it somehow Bless YOUR life as much as it has mine!

Many Blessings ~~~

Engage in The Page!

YES!  Engage!  Many of us realize that one of the key components to having a  successful ‘Fan’ aka Business page on Facebook is that it must get a certain amount of notoriety (Likes).  But what many are not seemingly aware of is that it is even more important to “Engage in The Page”.

One of the kindest things you can do for your friends or Business associates on Facebook if they do in fact have a Facebook Fan/Business Page is to regularly comment, and/or like their page content/posts that you support or believe in.

You see, by doing so – you put them into your news feed which then goes out to the friends who are following you – and into their news feeds.  That gives the Fan Page much more notoriety and ability to ‘share’ information.  Especially if you have someone selling a product or service that you highly recommend or wholeheartedly believe in – then you should definitely be proactive and Engage in The Page!  If they ask questions that you might have an answer to, just a quick answer helps them tremendously.  Even better if you ‘Share’ the post directly from the Fan Page with a quick note.  Getting ‘likes’ on the page alone will not get you the notoriety.  You MUST have regular engagement (regular likes and comments) on your Fan/Business Page Posts in order to be put into the news feeds regularly.

I am in the business of kindness.  I believe that we should all do whatever we can to assist others in their success.  Facebook gives us a kind way of sharing and engaging with others.  By doing so, at our leisure, and as we see fit – we can help promote others FREE of charge.  The more we engage and interact with others on their Fan pages and the more we show our support – the more others will begin to learn about great products, wonderful companies, and outstanding services.  So I encourage you today to Engage In The Page!

Social Media for Business

  What is Social Media?

‘Social Media’ is a group of Internet-based applications; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Biznik, Merchant Circle, WordPress (blog), etc. that allow the creation and exchange of social interaction and/or communication.  These give you an avenue to build relationships and also allow for inexpensive or FREE advertising for Business.

Why Use Social Media for Business?

Good Business is about Relationships. It has been proven that we tend to do Business with those whom we know and trust.  Social Media is a FREE 24/7 Tool that allows you to build those relationships.  It is immediate/‘real-time’, 80% of users are using their cell phones, Ipads, etc. to interact regularly with clients & customers.  This helps build the relationships as trust and confidence builds in the customer with quicker response times etc.  Customer service can be done day or night – any time of day on the Social Media Sites.  Each time someone ‘likes’ or mentions you on a social media site – that helps promote YOUR BUSINESS – FREE OF CHARGE.

One of the ‘nifty’ things is that you can also link one form of Social Media to another (post on your Facebook Fan page and it sends the same post to your twitter account, then twitter will send the exact same post to your LinkedIn account etc.) – or you can use an optimizer/Social Media Dashboard such as HootSuite (http://hootsuite.com/) which allows you to make a post and sends it out to all your other social media pages for you.

Which Are Best for Business?

In the Social Media Marketing report produced by Social Media Examiner; (you can download a free copy of the 41 page marketing report at: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/social-media-marketing-industry-report-2011/) – their survey showed that the top 3 Social Media Sites that had the most ROI (return on investment) were:

Facebook  *  Twitter *  LinkedIn

Facebook:  has approximately 500 million active users – half of whom log on daily averaging 55 minutes per user.  By having an ACTIVE Facebook Fan Page – you gain tremendous visibility for your Business.  You can have an unlimited number of Facebook PAGES (not accounts – only one account per person, then unlimited PAGES linked to that account).  Facebook PAGES can have an unlimited number of ‘fans’/Likes (whereas your personal page/account page can have only up to 5000 maximum)Facebook PAGES are PUBLIC – which means ANYONE can find the page and view it whether they are logged into Facebook/have a Facebook Account or not.  All content that you post on your Facebook PAGES also gets indexed in Google – which of course boosts your notoriety in SEO (search engine optimization – you get  ‘found’ when they search for your Service or Product!).

There are several other Social Media sites – two of the more ‘Local’  Sites are:  Biznik & Merchant Circle  – which also allow you to BLOG directly from your account, and have many LOCAL  BUSINESS EVENTS on a regular basis, to help promote Businesses.

Biznik is an award-winning community of entrepreneurs and small businesses dedicated to helping each  Other succeed.

RRR Consulting & Publishing Biznik Page:

Merchant Circle:  helps small businesses network with other local businesses and reach local customers  through free marketing tools and social media features.

RRR Consulting & Publishing Merchant Circle Page:

How Do I Get Started?

Each site has it’s own tutorials and help sections if you would like to  attempt to create your pages yourself.  SocialMediaExaminer.com has a lot of good FREE information, advice & tips for those who would like to learn and do it yourself.  If you do not have the  time, patience, or do not feel that you are technical enough to create your own  pages you can;

A. Hire A Social Media Manager such as Robin R. Robbins of RRR  Consulting & Publishing (or someone similar) – I teach/train you in setting  up your pages for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Biznik, Merchant Circle, Social  Media Etiquette (do’s & don’ts), Linking Pages etc. one-on-one – or I can  create & manage your page(s) for you on a continual basis (monthly fee) as  your Social Media Manager.

B. Attend local Social Networking Classes such as Kieran & Sherry  Murray’s Extreme Networking 101 Class for FACEBOOK– they hold them LOCALLY on a regular basis and can be found on Facebook at; http://www.facebook.com/ExtremeNetworking .

C. Check online or your local Community College for Social Networking Classes.

Summary:

Facebook is currently the number one online Marketing tool for Business – with 92% of Businesses using it.  It is highly advisable that you, at the very least, create and regularly use a Facebook Fan Page for your Business.

With Twitter & LinkedIn running close ‘seconds’ at this time –  it would also be advisable to have pages set up on those to promote your Business.

The rest is up to you – our experience has been that the majority of customers are coming from Facebook, Twitter, & LinkedIn.

It should be noted that Google+ is taking steps to compete – so keep an eye on that Social Media Platform as well.
